Building an educated society

Education can happen through any means. Governments provide them as their duty for the young people for as long as the individual can afford. Every individual starts to go to school where they meet their friends who are in the same age group. As a group of students, they learn, play and grow together every year.

What happens to the normal distribution? Majority of the students reach average, below and above average level of understanding on the subjects. The established institutions are undenyingly happy with the outcome.

For them, their income has been fulfilled very early in the beginning of an academic year.

For public, they don’t know why their children settle down distributed as in the normal distribution instead of seeking to attain full understanding.

For educated youth, they take it for granted as they are misguided by the common notion that everything follows normal distribution.

For me,

if I can get it, everybody else can!

If I can understand it, everybody else can.

Then why is it not happening?

May be, most of the students don’t want it like I wanted. Or the students are misguided. Students may not have the same desire but, anyways, they should get it, as long as they spend the certain amount of time as intended in school. The class hours should be productive for each student. Not just for the middle 10.

It is explainable, if some students skip the classes, due to sports like chess in which they become grandmasters at such young ages. Even for them, I wish they could reach the level of understanding of teachers with so called e-learning materials made available through internet in this decade.

I was given an important advice during my 11th STD that I have to try to understand each sentence before reading the next one. Nobody seems to teach this basic procedure about reading to all the students.

If you want to educate the students, does uploading videos solve the issue? For me, it only amplifies dependancy if we use animated videos. Students can’t become independant. What is the purpose of education? To become independant, isn’t it?

Teach them to read books; Don’t make them dependant on animated videos.

The educational videos can have animations if it is for babies. Augmented reality is useful to replace expensive physical models. Animated videos are only worth the effort if it can be made with lesser efforts and costs.

Let’s make videos explaining the words, sentences, pages and books for students who couldn’t listen and grasp during the class hours. The book explanation video could help him as a guide when he is struck somewhere and needs assitance. Making it as an animation, only introduces a new material to grasp, leaving behind no motivation to learn the book fully from the first sentence to the last page.
